FAMILY SAFETY VICTORIA

Service evaluation and co-design for the MARAM Maturity Model

the challenge

The Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework was designed to address critical issues and gaps in the provision of family violence services. In 2023, Family Safety Victoria (FSV) identified a need for an evaluation model to: measure maturity, support prescribed organisations and, identify and monitor stakeholder progress benchmarks.

the process

Together with the Paper Giant team, Samantha used co-design and participatory methods to centre stakeholder experiences as service providers, to understand and analyse how MARAM works for diverse practitioners. Over the course of 16-weeks, this project worked through generative research, synthesis and analysis to inform the co-creation of a dynamic and detailed MARAM toolkit for FSV.

the outcome

As project principal, Samantha led the design and delivery a MARAM Maturity Model and Roadmap as visual tools — quick to read and easy to understand. By consolidating complex assessment information into an interactive reference guide, FSV can now provide clear introductions for new stakeholders, including detailed material for experts who are looking to customise their MARAM alignment. This project was selected as a Gold Winner in the 2024 Good Design Awards.
